General Meeting

  • Sat, March 12, 2022
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • WAL Studio and Gallery, 701 Sawdust Rd., Spring, TX

Registration is closed

You are invited to our next general meeting on Saturday, March 12th from 10-12. You will have the opportunity to meet other artists as well as get all of the latest WAL classes, workshops, events, and exhibits. Sheila Greaver from Inspiration Ranch will talk to us about our participation in the Doodle Art fundraiser that several of our members have been a part of for the last few years. This fundraiser raises money to help fund therapeutic riding sessions to special needs children.

Ashlyn Medina from The Woodlands Art Gallery and Studios will give a demonstration after the business portion of the meeting.

Ashlyn recently graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Studio Art: Drawing and Painting with a minor in Entrepreneurship and Art History.  Ashlyn has been drawing since age 5 and has always been fascinated in capturing moments that make the viewer think and feel deeply. Her demo with subtractive charcoal drawing will demonstrate how she uses chiaroscuro in her work to capture the dramatic effects of light and dark to further entice the viewer and how to highlight the backstory of her subject.”

How to get to the WAL Studio at 701 Sawdust Rd.

You will see a strip center to the right of Hobby Lobby. To the left of the strip center is a blue and silver building. To the left of that building, you will see a silver two-story building. WAL is in the silver building, and our entrance is on the right side of the building.
