Nassir started out in the captivating world of art as a hopeful student of fine arts. Soon, however, as familial responsibilities grew, he pressed pause on his passion and pursued a Master’s degree in graphic design. After having worked in the advertising and graphic design industry for over two decades, Nassir has spent the past several years returning to and studying the subjects that he first fell in love with in college: drawing and painting.
Of course, adjusting to life as a fine artist so suddenly was not an easy move. In 2015, he moved from his full time job to a part time role and began studying drawing and painting under the supervision of master artists, both in person and online. He worked his way through learning and understanding many mediums, including oil color, acrylics, charcoal, and watercolor.
It was watercolor that captured Nassir’s creative attention. Despite its reputation as a tricky medium, the fluidity and spontaneity of the medium fascinate him. Now, watercolor has become his favorite medium, and the one he uses to express himself as an artist. Currently, he paints portraits, still life, landscapes, floral, and cityscapes in watercolor.
Nassir has spent the past three years formulating an easy and enjoyable process to learn watercolor and he loves teaching this wonderful medium to his students.
