Beginning Sculpture and 3-D

In this six session class students will create small works in clay, mache clay, and mixed media assemblage. No firing or wheel work .

Weeks 1 and 2: Air dry clay

While learning the basics of working with clay, you will make a small hand-formed pot and a sculpture with wire and wood armature. 

 


Weeks 3 and 4: Mache clay

Switch to Mache Clay for the next two weeks and continue to expand your skills. Mache clay can be sanded, painted or left in it’s natural state for unusual folk and faux effects.


Weeks 5 and 6: Assemblage

Add wood, wire, glass, metal and found items to your clays to create one of a kind 3-D art!

Classes held Mondays, 3:30 - 5:30 PM beginning in May at Studio in the Woods, 26002 Budde Rd, Spring, 77380. See instructor for start dates

$100 for each two week unit or $250 for all six classes. Single session and individual instruction available by arrangement with instructor.

Supply list available from instructor; some supplies provided. No experience needed, suitable for beginners through intermediates, older teens and adults.
