Wax loves paper! Using encaustic wax with handmade papers or watercolor paper can give your work a natural and “organic” look that goes well with beeswax and resin.
In this one day workshop we will explore ways to use paper with the wax. Mount heavy watercolor paper on a surface as a substrate, collage with Japanese paper, or create texture with tissue paper and tea bags. Use pre-colored waxes or make your own with pigments or oil paint. This workshop will give you enough general understanding of encaustic techniques for you to join the Woodlands Encaustic Artists Group.
